I don't want that to continue being the case. From now on I'm going to be constantly bettering myself. My friends and I are going to start a "Finer Things Club," like on the Office, where we talk about art, books, and culture. Along with that, I'm starting a book club with my cousin Sadira, LoveSakumaDrop. We meant to get it moving a long time ago, but it never panned out. We are also going to make an art club, where we have to create some type of art in a certain time frame.
And now that I'm done being cheesy and positive, here are some quotes that I think about while writing, painting, etc.:
One should only read books which bite and sting one. If the book we are reading does not wake us up with a blow to the head, what's the point in reading? A book must be an axe which smashes the frozen sea within us.
-Franz Kafka
Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and dreams are the shadow-truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes, and forgot.
-Neil Gaiman
Every thinker puts some portion of the apparently stable world in peril.
-John Dewey
